ELT is immersed in a plan of Continuous Quality Improvement and one of its critical aspects is the protection of electronics against electrostatic discharge during the manufacturing process, commonly referred as ESD (Electric Static Discharge). This plan was already established in 2010 when the factory of Electronics was integrated but new technologies and increasingly stringent requirements impose new organisational changes.
One of the parts of this plan consists of an implementation of specific training for all staff of the company with the aim of raising awareness about the importance of the ESD phenomenon, to find the means to control and report the new basic requirements.
Alberto Peñaranda and Pedro Granados, from the Environmental and Quality Department of ELT, were responsible for teaching this workshop which included aspects such as static electricity, its effects, generation models, methods and means to avoid static electricity and identify workspaces (EPA), among others.
